PSI AFFILIATES TO VERITAS UNIVERSITY

On Thursday the 13th of June 2024, the Psycho-Spiritual Institue of Lux Terra Leadership Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Veritas University, Abuja, Nigeria, to become an affiliate institute of the university.

Earlier, the National Universities Commission had approved the application of the Psycho-Spiritual Institute to begin its Post-Graduate Diploma and Master’s Degree Programmes in Nigeria pending its successful affiliation to the Veritas University. The approval was followed by a series of meetings and a resource verification inspection by the senate of the university to the Abuja campus of the institute, culminating in the historic signing of the MoU between both institutions.

Present at the signing for the university were the Vice- Chancellor of the university, Rev. Fr. (Prof) Hyacinth Ichoku, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Msgr (Prof) Michael Sasa, the Registrar Dr. Mrs. Stella Okonkwo among other members of the senate. Also present for the Psycho-Spiritual Institute were the Director, Rev. Fr. (Dr.) George Ehusani; the Registrar, Mrs. Nkechi Mba; the Head of Academic Planning, Rev. Dr. Richard Ehusani; Head of ICT, Mr Mike Egbe; and Mrs. Nkechi Ode, a member of the Lux Terra Chaplaincy.

Both institutions expressed their delight at the successful signing of the MoU and the affiliation of the Psycho-Spiritual Institute to the Veritas University. They expressed their hope and belief that the momentous event will bring about great advancement in the academic and general well-being of the Nigerian society.

The Psycho-Spiritual Institute of Lux Terra Leadership Foundation was founded in the year 2014 with its first campus in Nairobi, Kenya. It offers Post Graduate Diploma and Master’s Degree courses in Psycho-Spiritual Therapy and Counselling. With its approval by the National Universities Commission and affiliation to the Veritas University, the institute becomes the first of its kind in Nigeria to offer a psychology course that fuses spirituality with modern psychology to provide a more wholesome care to Nigerians and Africans as a whole who are considered to be deeply religious.
