LUX TERRA VISITS NEWS AGENCY OF NIGERIA

In furtherance of consolidating ties with the media and projecting the work of the foundation, the Lux Terra Team on May 16, 2024, paid an advocacy visit to the Managing Director, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mallam Ali Muhammed Ali. 

The delegation was led by Henry Ijomah who stated that the visit had a two fold purpose: first to formally congratulate MD on his appointment as MD and applauding him for his work which has distinguished him in the media space. 

Secondly, to highlight the projects undertaken by the foundation to promote the values of anti-corruption, integrity and honesty, good governance and citizenship, mental health awareness and also the elimination of sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria. He further stated that this work was being done with religious leaders and in institutions of learning to ensure better citizens of the country. 

He emphasized that NAN would play a vital role in the campaign to promote national values and address societal ills, which were among the core mandates of the foundation and expressed optimism that partnering with NAN would help Lux Terra achieve its mandate.

In response, Malam Ali Muhammed Ali, appreciated the work of the foundation and saluted the courage of the Executive Director of Lux Terra, Rev. Fr. George Ehusani in speaking truth to power and embarking on the laudable projects earlier listed. 

He said that the agency will continue to lead as a critical partner in promoting truth and integrity because the media is an important partner in any kind of national rebirth, whether in Africa or elsewhere.

He assured that the agency is a natural ally and a perfect partner for the foundation because they both share in similar ideals for a more integrated nation. He committed to the agency’s readiness to support the foundation in its determination to promote moral values in the society. 

The meeting ended with a presentation of gifts and photographs. 

The NAN Management team including Editor-In-Chief, Mr Ephraim Sheyin, Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Abdul-Hadi Khalil and Director of Special Duties, Mr Muftau Ojo were in attendance,  among others.
