In its continuous quest to ensure greater unity in Nigeria, the Network and Advocacy Group, Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, supported by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) again trained 30 community stakeholders in its series of trainings aimed at strengthening capacity to change the mindset of Nigerians in building a united, selfless and peace loving nation.
Stakeholders from different parts of the country were brought together to discuss and learn how to promote citizenship, prevent conflicts in communities, promote national integration, manage diversity, entrench social justice and Civic rights and responsibilities.
At the opening of the 3 day workshop, Executive Director, Lux Terra Leadership Foundation Father George Ehusani said it is paramount for individuals who are also stakeholders in the nation to take responsibility for the future of Nigeria as a State. He said the Nation is entangled in crisis, believed to have originated from prolonged injustices, insecurity and poor leadership. He emphasized that with the correct people, mindset and attitude, things in the country can turn around. He then enjoined participants to learn to accept one another and work together in fighting the common enemy.
The participants were actively involved in the discussions and stood unanimous in their commitment to do more in their various communities to cause a paradigm shift in mindset, as they themselves experienced within the period of the training.
A similar workshop, the third in the series, is expected to hold by the end of September 2021.
