In furtherance of its commitment to promoting greater unity in the country, through advocacy and creative dialogue, the Network and Advocacy Group of the Lux Terra Leadership Foundation on Friday 26th March held a second media parley with senior media Executives. This is in continuation of its series of advocacy programs.
Declaring the session open, the Executive Director of Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, Rev. Fr. George Ehusani, said Nigerians should use their rich diversity for the good of the nation rather than against its development. He called on the media to join the crusade of building a better Nigeria through journalism of skilful development.
Also speaking at the session, a seasoned journalist, Mr Lanre Arogundade, Executive Director of the International Press Centre (IPC), Nigeria, admonished media practitioners to always focus on the truth as the cornerstone of journalism. He emphasized that Truth should be told in such a way that minimizes harm.
The participants were drawn from different media houses comprising Print, Broadcast and Social Media. While commending the initiative of promoting greater unity, the participants promised to support the foundation’s mission in this crusade through constructive reportage.
