Following the success of the Lux Terra Integrity Campaign in 4 targeted secondary schools in the Middle Belt region of Nigeria, the Foundation continues its journey of accompanying and mentoring the schools in order to facilitate a greater level of awareness in the students, staff, management and even students on what makes for a wholesome formation of the human person. This mentoring involves interactions and learning sessions with the management, teaching and non-teaching staff and students of the school to keep them abreast with trends and open their eyes to factors that may be serving as barriers to the wholesome formation of the students while also collaboratively proffering solutions to these challenges.
In furtherance of this mentoring initiative, the Foundation has made another round of visits to the four schools – International Islamic Academy, Madalla, Niger State; St John Bosco Comprehensive Secondary School, Okene, Kogi State; St Peter’s College, Garaku, Nasarawa State and Our Lady of Apostles Girls’ College, Akwanga, Nasarawa State. These visits which took place in the months of January and February, 2025, involved a multi-day stay in each school in order to ensure that all grounds were covered and all stakeholders in the schools were engaged.
Discussions during the visit included seeing the roles of teachers as character formators in their own enlightened self-interest; priority management, living honestly in a corrupt world, winning together in unity, values for a successful life, study habits, examination preparation among others. The visit also afforded the opportunity to touch base and follow up on previous activities and successes recorded.
The visits were very well appreciated and the recipients thanked the Foundation for the continued interest and involvement in their schools.
